An original venue for golf for 110 years characterised by rollercoaster greens and long established beach and pine trees. The 3rd is a par three sloping left uphill, but oddly difficult to hold. At the deceiving 4th the corpse of trees swallows the balls by the bucketload. You’ll need precision not distance at this course. Strict dress code in operation. Wide wheeled caddy cars only.

The Rannaleroch course is a rolling parkland course which provides a challenge to golfers of all abilities. It’s open fairways and generous but undulating greens will forgive the high handicappers, but from the back tees will ensure even the lowest handicappers are tested.

Rosemount, the older course designed by James Braid is complemented by the Landsdowne, designed in the 1970’s by Peter Allis and Dave Thomas. Pines, Silver Birch, heather and gorse line the courses. Pro Lionel Platts achieved a world record ten consecutive birdies on Rosemount, between the 8th and 17th, and in 1977 Greg Norman won his first European Tour event, the Martini. The Landsdowne is slightly longer and a much sterner test and don’t miss the aptly named ‘Wee Course’.

James Braid created this exquisite gem on a hillside looking over to the beautiful Angus glens. The course is short at just over 5,500Yds but it is defiant even to the strongest players. The last two holes are superb, the 17th, a par three of 180Yds surrounded by mature trees, and the 18th, uphill with a large oak tree blocking the right side of the fairway. The views of all that is Angus are a joy to behold from anywhere on the course.
